LocalUGo, the premier Web site for listing and finding events in your area, announces the launch of its LocalUGo pass, a card that allows access to more than 70 discounts and special offers at area businesses while benefiting local nonprofits.
“The LocalUGo Pass is a win-win,” LocalUGo co-founder Lindsay Huckstep said. “Not only does it raise money for our local nonprofit organizations, but it gives community members a break from this tough economy and helps stimulate local business.”
Huckstep and co-founder Michelle Altamore have added the pass, an ongoing fundraiser for charity, to their efforts to promote community around Tampa Bay. The women also facilitate area events, mentor young people, and assist in conservation efforts.
The LocalUGo Pass, which offers discounts, deals and freebies at entertainment spots, shops and restaurants such as Splitsville, Panchero’s Mexican Grill, The Grape, EVOS, MUVICO Baywalk and Starlight, Café Alma and more, is available for just $20. Passholders choose which charity will receive the proceeds from the sale of their card, or customers can choose to have the proceeds split equally between the partnering organizations — Big Cat Rescue, Tampa Bay YWCA, Angels Against Abuse, and Children’s Home Society of Florida.
“We adore our community and believe each of our local nonprofit organizations serves a special purpose in keeping dreams alive around Tampa Bay,” Altamore said.
Support Tampa Bay causes by purchasing a LocalUGo Pass at www.localugo.com or from members of partner charities. Merchants interested in participating should e-mail 1@localugo.com.
